Not All White

Butterick 5190 loose-fitting, unlined jacket has dropped shoulders and stitched hem.

These are the pants from Vogue 8886 from this previous post. The top is Simplicity 1961. I didn't take pictures in my church all white this time. I wouldn't wear this jacket with casual wear because the fabric is so delicate, dainty, and just plain lovely.

I saw this jacket here.
I only wear this jacket with dresses or with pants as worn on the pattern here.
Fabric: 1 yard of White Embroidered Chiffon Ribbon purchased from Joann Fabrics using my 60% coupon. Polyester lining from Vogue Fabrics.
    Sizes: 8 - 24
Alterations: Added lining, snap, and ribbon on right side of jacket at center.
Polyester lining was added by cutting the lining fabric using the same pattern pieces.

This is an easy pattern. It's one of my favorites.

  1. Very pretty! The fabric looks so delicate, but the style is so classic I bet you can wear it with just about anything!

  2. This is so pretty! I like the dramatic sleeves too. :)

  3. I agree, this could go with anything. Wear it, I say - no good having it hanging there in the cupboard because it is too delicate to wear. It looks super and suits you .

    1. Thank you Sarah! Maybe, I'll wear it on a date with the husband.

  4. Dorothy.. this jacket is beautiful [love the fabric] It looks good with your pants too. I think a date with that sweet hubby of yours ,is a perfect
    place to wear it...

  5. So adorable, and yes it can be worn with a lot of combinations. I can picture it with a navy and white tulip skirt or pants.

  6. Great fabric! and most suitable style for it as well. Looking good!
