Pattern: Simplicity 4302 Khaliah Ali Collection Women's/Women's Petite Jacket with front variations.

                                                                 Sizes: 18W - 32W

Alterations: Sway back decrease of 1" & decreased sleeve cap 1 1/2 inches to remove gathers

This is the same pattern used here , here ,here, and here,
Fabric: Polyester Poplin can be purchased here
Lining: Polyester purchased from Fabric Mart a couple of years ago

I started purchasing this fabric from Vogue Fabrics once I realized it was the same fabric as the pants I wore daily as a teacher and a several of my husbands church suits.
I like it because it is durable, doesn't wrinkle, plain weave, comes in vibrant colors, inexpensive, and it's washable.

Although, I really needed another black blazer, my friend had been talking about purchasing one so I surprised her and gifted it to her.
Another one for me will come sometime this year. I probably will not bore you by posting it unless I use a different pattern.

Welcome Spring!

Pattern: Butterick 5476 OOP Diahann Carroll pattern purchased from Ebay last year.
Misses' /Misses' Petite Jacket & Skirt
Semi fitted, lined, below hip jacket has slightly extended shoulders, shoulder pads, contrast yokes and long sleeves. Semi-fitted, straight, lined skirt, below mid=knee, has elastic back waistband and back with side zipper.

 Sizes: 8 - 24

Fabric: Gold polyester poplin  with gold polyester lining from Vogue online.

Accents: Black piping & 1 piece iron on applique added before adding lining.

Alterations: decreased 1" swayback, added 4" to skirt

I always sew first and finish seams with the serger. I've found that if I serge the sleeves to the lining it gives a different look with added thickness on the upper sleeve.

This is a fun pattern with different variations/creative designs. I did fail to show the inside lining, but you've seen it over and over again.

Fabric Haul

I've been sucked in by this turquoise looking Mermaid Blue Cotton/Lycra Pique at the bottom of this tub. It is one of the hottest colors for the Spring.
While watching televisions, I noticed that some of the commercials are swimming in this color. It's being used everywhere in the color of tops, screen background colors, letters, and numbers.

Off I went searching for the fabric. I spotted the color on another site in a different fabric, declined it, and went back to Fabric Mart.

Well, I showed it to my husband as the color for my Easter outfit at the original price. The next morning while doing my daily Fabric Mart check (shocked and  surprised) the price was lowered. I immediately snatched it up with no hesitation. As much as I'd prefer something with a little knit in it, I settled for this pique.

Then I went back and grabbed the two pieces which just might become maxi dresses. I chose the green because of the hints of fashionable turquoise. The other, I just loved the design, the black, white, and fuschia combination.
