Taupe Burnout

Jacket B5053 & Dress B5190
Pattern Description: Misses' Pants, Top, and Jacket

Pattern Sizing: xxl-6c

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the fit of the jacket and the top. The jacket is interesting in that it could be made using coordinating colors. It would make a nice jacket/top set. I haven't made the pants.

Fabric Used: Jacket is  unlined burnout. The dress is a burnout overlay with a lightweight polyester lining. The dress is Butterick 5190.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I'm making it again in poplin.

Conclusion: This pattern is a perfect wardrobe builder.

Summer Dress

http://stitchupadress.blogspot.com/
Butterick 5053 Misses' Top was lengthened to dress length. The sleeves were widen about two inches to get the look. It took more time than I expected as I had to make adjustments to the tummy area. Polyester/Spandex $1 per yard fabric purchased about four years ago from Walmart was used. It has a satin finish.
