Black Jacket!
Pattern: Butterick 5719 Princess style jacket.
Fabric: Black Brushed Twill Poly Medium Weight
Lining: Polyester
The same jacket here. This is the second time that I've tried to satisfy my desire for a new black jacket. I've given away these pants as well as the jacket to the same friend. I forgot to adjust the jacket sleeve length which are too long and the jacket was too large. Maybe I'll get a black jacket before the cold season passes.
I used the technique for lining the jacket that was on the pattern. This is for the sleeves and the bodice so I didn't want to take the time to redo it.

Multiple Patterns Inspired Jacket
Pattern: Simplicity 2256 Double Lapel Jacket (used bodice back and lower sleeve ruffle pieces for jacket)
Pattern: Simplicity 2474 Front Band Jacket (used front, sleeve, and front band pieces for jacket)
Pattern: McCall's 6247 Elastic Waist Pant
This jacket was inspired by a jacket I saw on Pinterest.
Fabric: Vibrant Citron Poly/Lycra Crepe Knit from Fabric Mart
Pants - alterations remove 2" front, adjust leg width to 8 1/2", and removed 1" at hipline.
Fabric: Taupe Gray Poly Blend Stretch Suiting from Fabric Mart
*Instead of overlapping the elastic, I decided to try a technique of placing the cut pieces of elastic together on a strip of fabric and zigzag it together. This removes the bulk.

This front picture was requested by Tee. I've lost a couple of pounds since making the pants.

Love the color - "Make it Work"
Pattern: Butterick 5719 Jacket and dress.
Sizes: 8-24w
Fabric: Coral pink jacquard knit from Fabric Mart.
Alterations: Raised the neckline 2"
The inside of the fabric is rubbery and grabs as you rub your hand across it so I decided to underline the dress with coral thin knit.

The jacket is lined with crème polyester.
*This is one of my favorite patterns because of the comfort of the dress and jacket. When using knits I can wear the dress a little shorter because of the stretch. I no longer need to wear my dresses as long nor do I need to wear a hat when attending church.

Lace Trim Suit
This is Butterick 5858 which is another Diahann Carroll design. My inspiration was seeing a picture of Lady Diana wearing it with lace trim. It is a Misses'/Misses Petite Top & Skirt. Fitted, lined top has shoulder pads, princess seams, and long sleeves. Straight, lined skirt, mid-knee or lower calf has waistband, back zipper and side front slit.

This was an easy suit that I enjoyed making. It would be nice to have another in a more stable fabric. The pattern was purchase online as it is an OOP pattern.
I did my usual 1" swayback adjustment and petite adjustment on lower jacket View C. The fabric is a Navy Ponte Knit from Fabric Mart. Of course I used polyester lining from Vogue Fabrics. The navy lace and navy buttons were purchased from Joann Fabrics.

Not All White
Butterick 5190 loose-fitting, unlined jacket has dropped shoulders and stitched hem.
These are the pants from Vogue 8886 from this previous post. The top is Simplicity 1961. I didn't take pictures in my church all white this time. I wouldn't wear this jacket with casual wear because the fabric is so delicate, dainty, and just plain lovely.
I saw this jacket here.
I only wear this jacket with dresses or with pants as worn on the pattern here.
Fabric: 1 yard of White Embroidered Chiffon Ribbon purchased from Joann Fabrics using my 60% coupon. Polyester lining from Vogue Fabrics.
Sizes: 8 - 24
Alterations: Added lining, snap, and ribbon on right side of jacket at center.
Polyester lining was added by cutting the lining fabric using the same pattern pieces.
This is an easy pattern. It's one of my favorites.

Paisley Jacket
Pattern Description: Simplicity 2256 Jacket in two lengths with neckline and sleeve variations. I made view B with the double collar.
Previously, I made this blue ruffle jacket. and this white ruffle collar jacket.
Pattern Sizing: 4-22
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, it's a beautiful pattern.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were very easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the double layer collar more.
Fabric Used: Multi Sateen navy, white, and pink purchased from Fabric Mart.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None
Would you sew it again? Yes Would you recommend it to others? Yes
Conclusion: I can't wait to make this view in a solid color. It's exciting to have completed this jacket as I really wanted to make it last year, but my list was filled to the brim. Scrolling through the Fabric Mart pages, I came across this. It is so tempting because of the sparkles. This one is black, white, and pink.
