Sparkles and Ruffles
Pattern: Butterick 5917 Misses' dress with ruffles, semi-fitted, lined bodice and inset, raised waist and back zipper.
Sizes: 6 - 22
Fabric: Brown imported sparkle crepe from Trim Fabrics and crème polyester lining
Several bloggers made this dress and they were so lovely that I had to purchase the pattern. I'm so glad I did. It's and easy pattern and so lovely to wear.
Pattern: McCall's 3136 purses. This is view E
My instructions: 1. Sew lining to fabric, flip the purse inside lining, and place in the purse for fitting. 2. Measure fro placement of snaps. 3. Sew snaps in place. 4. Sew larger lining piece in place. 5. Sew lining corners to front as far as possible. 6. Topstitch whole purse 1/4 inch.
Sizes: 6 - 22
Fabric: Brown imported sparkle crepe from Trim Fabrics and crème polyester lining
Adjustments: Added 2 inches to raise the front panel, but could use another 3 inches. Five inches was added to the dress length and I increased the size. Long sleeves were added to view A as well as fully lining the outfit due to the fact that the fabric being very lightweight.

Coral and White!
Pattern: Simplicity 3845, 2007 Threads Magazine Collection Sewing Pattern. Misses' Pants Or City Shorts, Skirt And Lined Jacket: The collarless jacket has round neckline, concealed front button closing, three quarter sleeves and pocket and trim options; The belt with bow closes with snaps; The pants, shorts have waistband, front and back darts and side zipper closing; the skirt has side hemline vent.
Sizes: 8-24
Adjustments: Added 4" to the jacket and 5" to the skirt.
Embellishment: Polyester roses by the yard from JoAnn Fabrics. Roses were stitched horizontally between each rose so as not to distort the roses. The facing was added, then the roses and the buttonholes before completing the lining.
Sizes: 8-24
Fabric: Polyester crepe and polyester lining
The coral plant was a smaller version as a gift from a friend. She calls it Angel Wings. Although I took pictures, the lower right seam needed a little more pressing. I actually love the feel and drape of the fabric.

I considered stitching a vertical line on the right side of the buttonholes, but did not want the line on the right side of the fabric.

Something New Just for Me!
She gave me the ins and outs and proceeded to sit down and demonstrate it for me. Okay, I was sold and it followed me to the car (where my husband was napping) and into my home.
I've had the grandchildren so I haven't made a garment using it as of yet.

It's Party Time!
Pattern: Simplicity 8610 Misses/Miss petite dress with pleated or flared flounce. This is view B without collar. This pattern copyrighted in 1993 and purchased from a local thrift shop.
Sizes: 8-24 This pattern include sizes 14-16.
The clutch is another placemat with a beautiful embroidered design.
The pleated bottom dress really appeals to me. I'm sure you understand the list of wants that grows longer and longer each day. Maybe that's what we all enjoy about this adventure. Every day there's something that triggers the eye.
This was a last minute decision after knowing about this event for over two months. Therefore these were some quick sew items. It worked as we entered the event over and hour and a half late due to miscommunication. This time it was good to be late as the littlest one couldn't have taken the whole event without becoming even more uncomfortable.
McCall's 6276 Children's and girl's tops, dresses, skirts and leggings. This is dress C with alterations which include a center seam in the bottom front and a zipper since this pattern for stretch fabric.

Fabric: Crepe back satin & silk organza purchased during my travels from Walmart. I used the crepe side for my dress and the satin side for hers.
Alterations: This pattern was a size 14-18 so I had to use a TNT pattern (Simplicity 8523) jhto increase the pattern. Added 4 inches to the hemline of the bodice, inches to the flounce to equal the width of the bodice front and back, and used the TNT for the sleeves. The pleated bottom dress really appeals to me. Formal Asymmetrical Dress
Pattern: Simplicity 1657 Misses' & Plus Size special occasion dress has one shoulder look & optional shoulder strap with flower or bow accent. B & C with sheer overlay with cascading asymmetrical hem.
Sizing: 8-26W
On this sleeve, I didn't want it opened so as to fall at the side. This little stitch made such a difference.
Alterations: Notice that the inspiration dress has a let shoulder strap and the pattern has a right shoulder strap. Created a pattern for the sleeves, make larger straps to hide bra straps, make a flower, and create a new pattern to accommodate stomach area.
It took me days of thinking about this to become comfortable creating a pattern making sure that it was not distorted.
I did make one muslin of the dress .
Dress on dress form checking hem.
Fabric: Chiffon, Crepe, and Polyester lining
It was important to not be able to see through
this dress during such a special occasion. A stretch
lining would have been perfect. On short notice, I used
what I had as I'm far away from a fabric store.
This hem was a headache until I realized that I could put it on the dress form, sit on the floor,
and pin it from there.
This is not a review of this pattern as I didn't make the designed dress. This completed dress was a more complicated than the original pattern as it has three layers. If I made this for myself, I'd make it just like this with a strap on both shoulders.
It took a couple of weeks to complete and yes it was no walk in the park.
I'd recommend this pattern just because it's beautiful.
