Poor Baby!

Sheltie is on his way home from the veterinarian after spending the night and having four teeth removed. I feel so bad for him. Saturday we took him for his shots and she noticed a spot on his gum. He went to have his teeth cleaned. It was difficult to receive a message that they had removed four teeth.

  1. It is awful for them to have teeth pulled, but far better than being in constant pain from having bad teeth. Poor baby.

  2. I've just finished using a syringe with a crushed pain pill and water. He did get some of it. Trying to keep him from having pain. He wouldn't eat anything.

    1. I have always had good luck with cottage cheese, especially the higher fat variety, a scrambled egg or two, and yogurt unflavored unsweetened. I think the favorite with all my dogs has been scrambled eggs, I almost guarantee yours will eat them.

  3. Awww...poor puppy. They are such good friends and it hurts to see them in paiin. I remember when my dear Chelsea had to have surgery. She whined all night long. I hope your pup feels better soon.

    1. I got up at 5 a.m. scrambled eggs, ground up his pain meds, and antibiotic, but he refuses to eat.

  5. I'm sure your dog will start eating soon - he can go a couple of days without eating. Hopefully he will soon feel better than he has felt in a while - he may well have had toothache for ages. I had a cat once who didn't eat for five days, but then reassurance and biology took over her resistance. If he still doesn't eat, ring the vet and see if this is normal.

    1. Sara Liz, I just left trying to get him to take the pain med and antibiotic. I crush it up, but he refused the bread, drank some water, but when he tastes the meds, he stops. I'll have to call the vet because he needs the antibiotic.
