Thank goodness for my backup baby. I live in a very small town so I don't know how long it'll take to locate one. There are several online. I found one that is a universal one. We'll see!
Sewing clothing and items for my family, my home, and myself. It's so much fun learning new techniques.

Shocking!
What a shock! I'm sewing away and have to keep stopping because the thread is wrapped around the bobbin. It took twice removing it to realize that something was missing. The bobbin case had falling apart! I found the screw. After finding it, I dropped it in my lap and couldn't find it. I crawled under the cabinet, swept everything into the dust pan and it wasn't there. Pure disbelief!

So sorry that happened. Hopefully you will find a replacement case real soon.
ReplyDeleteI went around town today and no luck.
DeleteI'm sorry, I hope it works for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks, today of all days the sewing/vacuum repair place was closed. I shopped around the swap shops and nothing.
DeleteYou can fin one at hancocks sometimes Walmart.
ReplyDeleteI went to Walmart and they didn't have one.
DeleteSO sorry.. These things happen to me all the time...[How I ask myself, can the screw be in my hand ? and then totally be gone?]..
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to find one, or the universal one will work..
Have a great day.
I have tile on the floor, but I'm going to sweep again carefully and look under the closest things again.
DeleteI've had this happen to me too! Searching high and low for something that must be there and not finding it. The funny thing is that it usually turns up right under my nose when I'm no longer looking! I have to tell you, you have a very groovy looking machine. What brand is it?
ReplyDeleteThe machine is a Singer 500A. I think it is a 1957.
DeleteOoooh, very nice! There's nothing like a good solid older model machine!
DeleteThanks Sue! I just installed an invisible zipper using it. It is much quieter than my newer machine.
DeleteGood luck Dorothy - and you'll probably find the old machine sews well, they usually did.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm enjoying using it.
DeleteOh no! I hope it gets fixed up soon :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! It might take a while for me to locate the correct one.
