Chili Pepper Red Top

McCall's 6614 close-fitting, pullover tops have princess seams and narrow hem. This top also has a upper sleeve dart just like this.

Sizes: S(24-36) - XXXL(54-56)

Alterations: I used the facings from Butterick 3030 as I didn't want to topstitch this fabric. I took time and hand hemmed the sleeves and hem.

Fabric: Chili Pepper Red Poly/Lycra Techno Knit from Fabric Mart. This fabric is the same as this blue top.

I love this pattern, this fabric, and the fit of this top.

* I miss my beautiful blog page. My granddaughter changed everything and I do not know how she did it. Eventually, I hope to make it look more appealing.

Fun Quilt/Lesson Learned!

This is a new hobby that has been keeping me from a lot of sewing clothing for myself. I'll also share some of the other fun projects that's taking a lot of time.

Front
Back
The fabric came with the front and back of the kittens. I decided to take the back and use it for my squares. I'd never used Heat n Bond before and used the wrong one. I used Ultra when I should have used Lite. Therefore the cats are stiff. I was making this for a baby quilt, but I think it would make a better wall hanging.

A Shorter Version of Tunic/Pants

Pattern: Tops Butterick 3030 view A shortened to hip length Scuba knit from Fabric Mart

This is the same top here. I like this top so much that I made one more. I also have plans to use this pattern for some Spring/Summer tops.

Pants: Simplicity 2190 Flocked Varigated Denim from Fabric Mart

Pant Alterations:  Front band was reduced by one inch
Removed two inches from outer and inner leg
*This pattern does run large. After making adjustments, I thought "I'd never make this pant again, but we'll see. I do like the fit.
