My Mother's Day Prayer Breakfast dress and Purse.
The hair is a little different: Two-strand twist with pin curls. Yes it's fit for a 1950's dress.
Sizes: 8 - 24Fabric: Polyester table cloth and dinner mat
Alterations: The skirt is not as full because I cut it as one piece and added 3" to the length. Edging on the neckline is the already folded bias edge of the fabric. I cut it, sewed it to the front and back bodice, serged it, and topstitched it 1/4 inch.
Pretty!! And perfect stripe matching!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nakisha!
DeleteBeautiful dress and purse. Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks you and hope you enjoy your day.
DeleteThat's a really pretty dress, love the matching purse.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThat looks great! Funky reuse of your fabric -- love that!
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric to use. I'm glad you made the skirt less full - a full skirt would not have worked so well on you - it has just enough fullness now. I remember the 50's pincurls - my mother used to do her hair like that :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! While in church today, I remembered the hair style was called pin curls and forgot to come back and correct it. I just did change it from pin tucks.
DeleteLove the colours and print dress looks happy and cheerful. Surprised by your fabric I would never of thought of using a table cloth
ReplyDeleteWell, it's 100% polyester, so I just went for it. I just gave away this purse and the leopard one, but will make another.
DeleteSuch a neat dress and purse. Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Hope your Mother's Day was a joyous one.
