One Hour Maxi

Patterns: McCall's 8108 is an old pattern that was purchased for 20 cents. It's a one hour dress in two lengths with short sleeves or sleeveless.

Fabric: Hot Pink/Black/White Large Abstract Print ITY Knit from Fabric Mart. I love the large print and the striking colors.

Alterations: Simplicity 1280 view D hem was used on this dress.

This was a perfect dress for my trip as it's relaxing and non-constricting! I wore a maxi each day including this and this . We had loads of fun.

Perfect Florida Palms

Simplicity 4149 Misses or Plus Size Skirt, Pants, Tunic Top and Scarf

This OOP pattern has been housed for a few years. I thought it would be perfect for this fabric which I purchased from Fabric Mart a few months ago. Since tunics are the trend I'm making several to enjoy during  my travels.

Although I had plans to make a pair of white pants, my friend and I were shopping and ran across these pants for a steal so we both purchased a pair.

This is a nice weight cotton and fun to sew.  I'm pleased with it, but knits are my favorites. It all about the fit.

Fabric: Red-Orange/Emerald Green/Multi Palm Trees Cotton Print 42W
I purchased 3 yards which was perfect for print placement. As far as alterations - shortened the sleeves and added side slits.

100 Years of Fashion in 2 Minutes

As they say, "We've come a long ways, baby." This is a quick view of just how creative we are and how easily we're bored with fashion.

As hot as it is now, can you imagine wearing everything that was previously worn from bottom to top? We do have choices as to how much or how much less we choose to wear.

Little Sparkles

M6247 Pants and Skirt that are quick and easy. If I continue on this path, I'll make each piece on this pattern. These are from the same pattern.

Because my husband's birthday was coming up and a weekend away had been planned there was plenty time to make this outfit.

Fabric: Black/Charcoal/Silver Metallic Striped Twill Suiting from Fabric Mart. I just love the little sparkles!

Top: Butterick 5890 view C blouse

Adjustments were made  to the top which included placing front on fold to remove front seam, enlarge sleeve width 1/2 inch each side, added 2 inches to sleeve length, enlarged pattern one size, and add collar from Vogue 8886.

Line Drawing
Butterick 5890 Misses'/Misses' Petite Top and Tunic (loose-fitting through bust) has tuck variations, back zipper, and stitched hem on sleeves. I could see this top as a very comfortable dress.

Before leaving for the trip, we were notified of a friend's death so I decided to make a skirt from McCall's 6247. I did have to add five inches to the length.

As time rolls on, I would love to make each item on this pattern. I'm interested to see how that cardigan fits.

Since my hubby like this suiting fabric, I'm obligated to make him a shirt and dress pants with welts. That'll push me to another level.
