The addition of the lining really gives this lightweight fabric a nice weight.
Maybe you remember this jacket which was worn with the royal blue dress. Well, now I have a complete outfit.
Jacket: Butterick 5714 view B with added ruffles http://sewingfunthings.blogspot.com/2014/04/dressed-for-wedding.html
Yes, I'm loving this outfit. Of course the slanted cut of the sleeves are awesome. I can see adding several of these skirts to my wardrobe. It will be easier getting in an SUV than straight cut skirts with no stretch and don't forget coverage when in a seated position.
Love that skirt! I was thinking how view A and B would look with a sheer overlay. Lots of options with this pattern.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It does allow for shear fabrics.
DeleteLove your new skirt.. Looks great on you.. And the jacket is adorable. Happy sewing.
ReplyDeleteCute skirt and jacket combo!
ReplyDeleteAs you say, a fuller skirt is a lot more forgiving when sitting - straight skirts ride up quite a few inches. What a pretty outfit, the skirt does suit you nicely with the slight flare at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Deleteawwww look at you! I love swissy skirts! lol!

Helen, I always liked the look of straight skirts while trying to look slimmer. Well, at this age, comfort is a little more interesting! Don't get me wrong, I like about a 27" which is just below me knee, but it doesn't work for my church life.
DeleteI know just what you mean Dot, we can't let it interfere with getting our praise on lol!

You're right Helen! I also sit up front with no pew in front of me facing the deacons and preachers.
DeleteThat's so lovely skirt, Dorothy! I love this style and it looks great on you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Hana!
DeleteGreat job! Your skirt looks great!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIt definitely looks great together. The fabric is so beautiful.
