Last of the coordinates

Pattern: Simplicity 1699  Unlined Jacket

Pattern Sizing: 8-24

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I dislike the pleats on the shoulders.

Fabric Used: Scuba wrinkle-free polyester stretch knit. It's a more stable knit. It actually feels rubbery. You can't iron it unless you use a pressing cloth.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The sleeve cap was adjusted to remove the pleats. The back was cut on the fold to remove the back seam. Now, I don't think I should have done that since the dress and pants have a back seam. It's perfectly fine that I did it, but that seam is what pulls everything together as a complete set.

Would you sew it again? Yes

Would you recommend it to others? Yes

Conclusion: The jacket is a quick jacket for the changing weather. This is such an easy pattern that one could make with short sleeves or a shorter or longer version. It's a real go-to pattern.

  3. Another elegant outfit Dorothy . I admire you for actually finishing the whole envelope - and everything can be worn apart as well.
