This is view C of Simplicity 6130 made in a burnt orange cotton poplin with a round neck and a sash. The peplum has three pleats with a slant on the left side.
The top can be made with short sleeves or cap sleeves, with a wide deep v-neck or a slit type v neck, and a regular peplum. It was made for a family member.
It is exciting when the invisible zipper looks like the seam.
I love this top. I've had ideas for something similar to this. I'll have to check this pattern out. Thanks for posting this!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! This New Look pattern comes in size 8-18. I've not been posting the sizes and I know that's very important.
DeleteThis is a really nice top. I was wondering if I should make one for myself but not sure if the peplum would suit my shape!
ReplyDeleteAnn Thanks! I think this will suit any body style with the variations in the style of the peplum (straight even hem and the slanted angle).
DeleteThis pattern has been on my radar for some time now. Your top is very nice and is inspiring me to tackle my own. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI think you'll enjoy it!.
DeleteLove it. The burnt orange is such a pretty color. Happy sewing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job on the zip - someone is going to be very happy wearing this top :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, slowing the machine down equals success!
DeleteGreat top Dorothy! I love the job you did on the zipper and pleats.
ReplyDeleteThanks Regina!
ReplyDeleteOooh, nice work on the invisible zipper! One day I will have to use one of these, the finish is so nice, for some reason they scare the crap out of me. Silly isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI like the neckline on this top so much better than the Vogue pattern that "everyone" seems to have made, I may just have to check this one out.
I'm glad that you like this pattern and maybe you will pick it up and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteLove the peplum.....love the color. Perfect for Fall!
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's also perfect for the FAMU Rattlers!
