Looking through the pattern stash, I settled on this slightly flared, above mid-knee length skirt.

She really wanted this color so I used what I had which is a lime scuba knit from Fabric Mart. Being a tall girl, I added 8" to the skirt length and because she wanted a wide band, I added 4" to the band. I like the drape of the skirt in this fabric, but would like to make it in a lightweight broadcloth and a couple inches shorter. That's the way she rocks her skirts!

DeleteI love how the yoke gives waist shape (my older body doesn't do well with waist gathers) and lovely drape from the hips. Great color, too!
ReplyDeleteMolly, it's not good for my figure either, but I try and get away with it. I'm a little too thick around the middle for it.
DeleteSo adorable, and she looks rather pleased. I'm sure this cute skirt will get worn a lot!
ReplyDeleteThank you! She has requested more colors.
