Quick and Comfy!

Pattern:  Butterick 5058 printed in 1997 is a loose-fitting, pullover, slightly A-line dress, below mid-knee.  This is View C made in black Ponte knit.


Adjustments: Lengthen the front and back facings since I didn't line it. After sewing the sides together, I went back and removed 1" from the sides.


 Sizing: up to 32W
This is what I quickly made to wear to the funeral on last Saturday. I hand hemmed the sleeves and hem because it makes a nicer finish. It is so comfy that I think I'd like a few more in my closet. Of course, they need to be in a nice knit.

      I agree with the options. It took all I could not to add kiwi to it. I needed this simple black dress. I'll visit your site.

    simple can be good at times, sorry it had to be for a funeral, the style of the dress suites you & I love how you're letting your hair grow, looks great on you!

    Very classy looking! Love this type of dress you can dress it up or down. Yes, I have to agree you need a few more in your closet.

    Despite such a solemn occasion being the motivation I think this is a very beautiful dress on you. You look so stylish and sophisticated and I think it deserves another outing in a brighter colour.

    That is a very smart dress, and you look wonderful with your hair in a chignon. I'm not sure if compliments are appropriate though - this was a sad event, after all. So this is a respectful comment as well.

    Oh Sarah! The compliment is wonderful and there is a peace about it (his death) in that things happened so fast and he'll not have to suffer through treatments.
