Happy Mother's Day!

Pattern: Butterick 5982 MISSES'/MISSES' PETITE DRESS AND BELT: Dress has close-fitting, lined bodice, side front seams, pleated and gathered skirt, back zipper, and belt with bow, knot and Velcro® closing. A/B, C D cup sizes.

My Mother's Day Prayer Breakfast dress and Purse.

The hair is a little different: Two-strand twist with pin curls. Yes it's fit for a 1950's dress.
Sizes: 8 - 24
Fabric: Polyester table cloth and dinner mat
Alterations: The skirt is not as full because I cut it as one piece and added 3" to the length. Edging on the neckline is the already folded bias edge of the fabric. I cut it, sewed it to the front and back bodice, serged it, and topstitched it 1/4 inch.

  5. Great fabric to use. I'm glad you made the skirt less full - a full skirt would not have worked so well on you - it has just enough fullness now. I remember the 50's pincurls - my mother used to do her hair like that :)

    1. Thanks Sarah! While in church today, I remembered the hair style was called pin curls and forgot to come back and correct it. I just did change it from pin tucks.

    1. Well, it's 100% polyester, so I just went for it. I just gave away this purse and the leopard one, but will make another.
